Tausen, Hans

(1494–1561). Reformer; b. on Fyn. Den.; entered a monastery; studied at Rostock 1516–19; taught Copenhagen; studied under M. Luther 1523; preached Reformation doctrines Viborg and Copenhagen, also taught Copenhagen; bp. Ribe 1542. Helped est. schools. Tr. Pentateuch into Dan.; helped provide a Dan. agenda.
