Spurling, Richard G., Sr.

(ca. 1812–86). Bap. minister near Cokercreek, Monroe Co., Tennessee; with son R. G. Spurling Jr. et al. organized Christian* Union in Barney Creek Meetinghouse, a crude log bldg. in Monroe Co., near confluence of Barney and Coker Creeks, ca. 2 mi. from Tennessee-North Carolina boundary 1886.
