Anti-monophysite theol.; probably distinguished from Scythian monk of same name and from one Leontius of Jerusalem; probably the monk whom Sabas* took from the New Laura* in Palestine to Constantinople ca. 530; defended Chalcedonian Christology against Monophysites. Wrote against Nestorianism* and Eutychianism.*
