Luther*; made O. Petri* preacher at Stockholm and L. Petri* teacher at Uppsala; had Bible tr. into Swed. The Diet of Västeraas 1527 est. preaching and teaching of the Word of God; the Syn. of Örebro 1529 adopted Reformation principles. Gustavus I sent the 1st Luth. missionaries to the Lapps 1559.
