Altenburg, Göttingen, and Halle; to Am. 1818; licensed 1819 by Pennsylvania Ministerium to serve at Hummelstown, Pennsylvania; assoc. pastor St. Michael and Zion Ch., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; ed. Ger. tr. of the works of F. Josephus*; active in liturgical and hymnological work. See also Schaeffer, Charles Frederick.
