(1714–70). Son-in-law of J. A. Bengel,* by whom he was influenced; espoused analytic, biblical, pietistic preaching; pub. new ed. of Bengel's Gnomon. Other works include: Gnomon in Duodecim Prophetas Minores; Die Rechtfertigung und deren Versicherung im Herzen nach dem Worte Gottes betrachtet.
