(ca. 1506–1534). Noted impostor at time of Henry VIII; used nervous disorder to simulate inspired possession, esp. in interest of hindering progress of Reformation in Eng.; confessed to fraud; beheaded London. Called (Holy) Maid of Kent; Nun of Kent; Nun of Canterbury.
