Brit. and Ireland which traces its origin to miss. work among slaves on the is. of Antigua 1786 and was formally organized Leeds, Eng., 1813; usually called Meth. Missionary Soc. 2. The Missionary Soc. of the Wesleyan Meth. Ch. of Am. was founded Syracuse, New York, 1862; dept. of world missions of The Wesleyan* Meth. Ch. of Am.; often called Wesleyan World Missions.
