Copenhagen, Den.; descendant of long line of Luth. pastors; MD Leiden 1664; impressed by Corpus Christi procession in Livorno, It.; RC 1667; vicar apostolic for Nordic missions 1677; titular bp. Titiopolis 1677; auxiliary bp. Münster 1680; left Münster 1683 in protest against simoniacal election; active in Hamburg and Schwerin.
