Sem. of the United Syn. in the S., at Mt. Pleasant, near Charleston, South Carolina, 1901–05; pres. United* Syn. of the Ev. Luth. Ch. in the S. 1914–18; secy. ULC 1918–32. With F. H. Knubel* ed. Our Church; other works include Christian Liberty and Church Unity.
