Old Egyptian stone, irregularly shaped 3 ft. 9 in. long and 2 ft. 4 1/2 in. wide, found 1799 near Rosetta (Rashid), ca. 30/35 mi. NE of Alexandria; provided the key to Egyptian hieroglyphics.
