Developed on background of classicism, humanism,* and the Enlightenment.* Characterized by subjectivity, appeal to imagination and fancy, emphasis on beauty of the natural world, mystery, idealizing pantheism or its counterpart as an explanation of the relation bet. the inner and outer world, freedom for each personality.
