Oman, John Wood

(1860–1939). Presb. theol.; b. Orkney, Scot.; minister Alnwick, Northumberland, Eng., 1899–1907; prof. Westminster Coll., Cambridge, 1907–35. Rejected such concepts as grace, faith, and infallible revelation; emphasized sincerity.

Ömcken, Gerdt

(Gerhard; Oemcken; Oemeke[n]; Oemichen; Omeken; Omich[ius]; Omken; ca. 1485 [1500?]–1562), B. Kamen, Westphalia, Ger.; spokesman for Lutheranism in the Rhine-Westphalia-Lippe territory; pastor Soest 1532, Lemgo 1533–35; supt. Minden 1535–40; present at the February 1537 meeting of the Schmalkaldic* League and signed the SA.

Omnipotence.

Attribute of God by reason of which He can and does perform whatever He pleases (Ps 115:3; 135:6).

Omnipresence.

Attribute of God acc. to which He is present everywhere. See also Immanence of God.
