(Briessman; Briessmann; Brismann; Brysmann; 1488–1549). Monk at Wittenberg and Frankfurt an der Oder; won for Luther by the disputation at Leipzig and by Luther's writings of 1520; spread the Gospel in Königsberg and Riga. “First disseminator of the pure doctrine in Prussia.”
