Teachers' Sem., Fort Wayne, Indiana; teacher Readfield, Wisconsin, 1864; Bloomington, Illinois, 1865–66; Venedy, Illinois, 1867–82; St. Matthew's School, Chicago, 1883–84; prof. at Teachers' Sem., Addison, Illinois, 1884–1915 (when he resigned); contributed articles to Lutheraner on educ. and schools.
