Thierry of Chartres

(Theodoricus, or Terricus, Carnotensis, or Brito; Thierry the Breton; ca. 1100–ca. 1156). Brother of Bernard* of Chartres; b. Fr., taught at Chartres and later at Paris; archdeacon Dreux 1136; archdeacon and chancellor Chartres 1141. Works include Heptateuchon. See also Bernard (Silvestris); Chartres, School of.
