Hyperius*; experiences in Schmalkaldic* War led him to write against faith without works; rejected Protestantism 1548; preacher Frankfurt am Main 1549, dismissed 1552; rejoined RC Ch. 1553/55; preacher Minden; canon Mainz; prof. Freiburg im Breisgau 1566.
