Erfurt and Heidelberg; preacher 1520; helped reform Nassau and Württemberg (see also Blarer, Ambrosius; Grynäus, 1); signed SA; prof. Tübingen 1544; forced to leave 1548 for opposing Interim*; prof. Jena 1549; opposed Philippists* at Consultation of Worms* 1557. See also Regensburg Conference.
