(1658–1733). B. Dürnberg, near Hallein, Salzburg, W Austria, near Ger. border; miner; banished 1685 (see Salzburgers, Banishment of); settled at Nürnberg. Works include tracts and the hymn “Ich bin ein armer Exulant.”
