Irish Pict; trained at Comgall's center at Bangor, Northern Ireland (see Celtic Church, 8); sent by Comgall to Pictland (now Scot.) 562; also worked in the Hebrides; est. several training centers (including one at Rosemarkie [now Fortrose], on the SE coast of the Black Isle peninsula, which juts into the North Sea, and one on the island of Lismore, in the entrance of Loch Linnhe, Argyll Co., W Scot.).
