Sunday.* Rv 1:10 is commonly understood as referring to the 1st day of the week; the assoc. is based primarily on the resurrection of Christ (Lk 24:1349; Jn 20:125). The outpouring of the Spirit apparently also took place on that day (Acts 20:7; I Co 16:12). The name is often used when the sacred character of the day is stressed. In Christian terminology also called sabbath,* or sabbath day.
