(1800–61). B. Arjeplog, Norrbotten Co., N Swed.; educ. Uppsala; botanist; Luth. pastor Arjeplog 1825, Kaaresuvanto (Karesuando; Karesuanto) 1826, Pajala 1849; led pietistic movement that spread in N Swed., Norw., and esp. Fin.
