His thoughts on reform are given in Von Gottes genaden unser Hermans Ertzbischoffs zu Cöln, unnd Churfürsten einfaltigs bedencken, warauff ein Christliche, in dem wort Gottes gegrünte Reformation anzurichten seye (drafted by Bucer and Melanchthon; pub. 1543). Some of his proposals found their way into the Book* of Common Prayer. Deposed and excommunicated 1546 by Charles* V and Paul* III.
