Gönner, Johann Jakob

(May 11, 1807–June 25, 1864). One of the Saxon pilgrims of 1839 (see Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, I 1); 1st full-time prof. Conc. Coll., Altenburg, Missouri; moved with the school to St. Louis 1849; on leave to ed. Altenburger* Bibelwerk 1857; resigned 1861.
