Wolsey* 1525; acquainted with W. Tyndale*; imprisoned for reformation views; released at request of Wolsey; to Marburg, Ger., where he met P. Hamilton* and assisted Tyndale; wrote against T. More* and J. Fisher*; returned to Eng. 1532; imprisoned 1532; burned at the stake at Smithfield July 4, 1533. Learned and pious. Denied purgatory, transubstantiation, and papal infallibility.
