Syn. traveling miss. to Luth. settlements in the Midwest (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin) that had no pastor; ordained Fort Wayne, Indiana, November 7, 1847; pastor White Creek, Indiana, November 1847, Indianapolis, Indiana, 1851, Baltimore, Maryland, 1868.
