Coll., Fort Wayne, 1873; lived in Milwaukee after retirement 1915; poet; hymn tr. include “The Lord Hath Helped Me Hitherto,” “The Lord, My God, Be Praised,” and “Come, Thou Precious Ransom, Come”: ed. collections of poetry entitled Gott segne Dich! and Gott tröste Dich!; ed. Das walte Gott!, a book of devotions drawn from C. F. W. Walther's* sermons; other works include Lehrbuch der deutschen Sprache and Kurze Gestenlehre.
