Bickersteth (17861850); educ. Cambridge; held a number of charges; bp. Exeter 1885 to 1900; hymnist; ed. hymnals. 4. Edward (1850 to 97). Angl. clergyman; son of E. H. Bickersteth; bp. S Tokyo. Educ. Cambridge; miss. to Japan; organized Nippon Sei Kokwai (Catholic Church of Japan); founded community missions of St. Andrew and St. Hilda.
