Ahle, Johann Rudolf

(1625–73). B. Mühlhausen, Thuringia, Ger.; educ. Götiingen and Erfurt; organist Erfurt 1646, Mühlhausen 1654; composer. Works include vocal and choral sacred dialogs; arias, some of which became hymn tunes, e.g., “Es ist genug,” “Liebster Jesu” (or Dessau), and (in adaptation) “Morgenglanz der Ewigkeit.”
