Other works include The Christian Hero (1701), a devotional book reflecting Puritan idealism in contrast to the licentiousness of the Restoration period (sometimes identified with the reign of Charles II, sometimes regarded as extending to the accession of Anne [16651714; queen of Gt. Brit. and Ireland 170214]).
