Helmuth*; without ordination or license he began his ministerial career at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, 1784; served congs. in Bedford and Somerset counties, Pennsylvania, 178992, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, 17921830 (licensed by Pennsylvania Ministerium 1796; ordained 1806); active also in Ohio and in early convs. of The Ev. Luth. Joint Syn. of Ohio* and Other States.
