Ch., St. Louis 1892–1920 (he had begun preaching there 1891); pres. Eng. Dist. of the Mo. Syn. 1912–15; prof. Conc. Sem., Saint Louis, 1920–46. Coed. The Lutheran Witness 1914–49.
