(b. ca. 1505). B. Herzberg, Ger. (hence also called Herzberger); studied under M. Luther at Wittenberg; pastor Gräfenthal and Nordhausen; preached sermons 1565 rejecting the 3d use of the Law as source of Majorism (see Majoristic Controversy) and synergism.* See also Antinomian Controversy.
