Barnardo, Thomas John

(1845–1905). B. Dublin; d. London. Founded Dr. Barnardo's Homes (for orphaned and destitute children); these homes cared for ca. 60,000 up to the time of Barnardo's death; the children were trained in the religion of their parents.
